“I sort of figured that the best ofs covered most of the biggies and I wanted to start in the pop Era so I made a list of the missed tracks.  When the list was done, I decided to add a few oldies because I couldn’t bear to make the list without them.  Notes added where I thought they were needed”

Please Mr Please:  She had good Kentucky whisky on the counter, but her voice is smoother.  We all have that song that reminds us of someone, but no one makes a case as well as this song.

Sam:  So pretty and soft.  Both the singer and Sam were exes and single again, I am guessing Sam couldn’t resist when she sang this to him.  I couldn’t have.

On to the Pop era:

Deeper than the night:   I think this so should have been on Greatest Hits two.  Such a great great song!

I Cant Help It:  this is technically an Andy Gibb song, it was released on one of his albums, but this duet doesn’t have one lead…as good as Kenny and Dolly, I wish they had done more.  I think they did one other and then recently she did a duet with Barry (2021) but this is the best Gibb duet in my book.

Landslide:  this was on Physical, and I think it was a song that got lost in the incredibleness of Physical(reminder it was the top one of the 80s) has that raspy thing that I just love.

Soul Kiss:  I love this album. Caer out next after GH2, and it is hot!  The cover was shot with a bdsm vibe by Helmut Newton.  I have always wanted to own a copy of the photograph..hot!   It pushes the boundary lime Physical but went in a different direction.

Twist of Fate:  from the movie Two of a Kind with Travolta.  Like Xanadu the movie flopped but the album was huge.  This song, interestingly, showed up a couple of years ago on Stranger Things.

Livin in Desperate Times:  also from Two of a kind….and don’t I know how she feels #2020/2021

The Rumour:  written by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, with Elton singing backup.  Excuse me!  This is pop perfection.  The video features a Versace Jacket that I would kill for.  This will always be one of my favorites.

Reach Out for Me:  this is one of those songs that is just pretty.  Livvy at her best, lush, pretty, full…a midtempo song that is forever perfect.

Lovin You: the Minnie Riperton song, it was on a album that was all covers of women’s songs. A great song and a great version.

Mickey:  took me straight back to my childhood.  This one was released on a soundtrack in Australia and I had to hunt it down immediately.  So fun, there are several songs I really live on this album, but I’ll only mention one more, also a cover…..

Two out of Three Ain’t Bad:  I really like Jim Steinman, and we always associate him with Meatloaf but his songs stand up. Just ask Celine!  This cover has a totally different vibe than the Meatloaf version and I love it. (The single Weightless from this album is also great)

These last two are a little harder to find, but so worth it.

I Touch Myself:  the DiVinyls cover, this was part of a project that was a fundraiser for Breast Cancer awareness but I love this song and I really love how different it sounds than the original.

Part of Your World:  I am not a Little Mermaid super fan, but ONJs version of this song shows her voice is still sultry and soft and beautiful, it is like it was written for

her.

Physical: Lastly, re-listen to Physical, it was just remastered and is pretty much the perfect song, you can’t help to dance when you hear it.  I still love it so very very much and remember how scandalous it was which for some reason makes it better.  The WAP of its time.  It was, again, the top song of the 1980s, so that alone merits another listen!
